OUR TIPP

To the Stoanernen Mandln on the Tschögglberg.

From the Leadner Alm to the “Mandln”: We start in Vöran at the Leadner Alm. Through the fresh snow and the golden colored larch forests we trudge uphill on trail no. 11 towards the Auener Joch, which we reach after about 2 hours. From far away we can already see the highest goal of our tour – the “Stoanernen Mandln”, a myriad of little stone towers, guardians of times gone by. Silently they keep watch on the hill for the next hiker. We reach the “Mandln” from the Auener Joch after about 20 minutes. Once there, we linger at the weather cross and can’t get enough of the overwhelming mountain panorama. Here in the heart of South Tyrol we can see the Geisler peaks, the unmistakable Plattkofel, the mighty Schlern, the sugared Rosengarten and the nearby Laugen. The Ortler group greets us from afar and the Texel group is within reach.

Back home via the Möltner Kaser: Our path now leads us downhill on path no. 4 towards the Möltner Kaser, which we reach after about half an hour. In the warm parlor we let ourselves be spoiled with some homemade Kniakiachlen, before we trudge back towards the Leadner Alm on the way back with the K mark. We reach the Alm in about 1 ½ hours, having made our way through the snow and across icy streams.
